Audrey Sawyer and Jonathan Dawson met when she was in kindergarten, and he was a second-grader who protected her from the class bully. They became awkward friends until he moved on to junior high.
Their lives did not intersect again until they were young adults. They met by chance at a local grocery store, but neither recognized the other. Both froze as their hearts remembered the heart of the other. Frightened by the moment, both let the chance meeting evaporate, but neither could forget the emotionally shocking déjà vu encounter. Years passed; Audrey and Jonathan accidentally met three more times, but neither realized they were the lost loves of the enchanting meeting in the store. Suddenly, Clair, a long-time friend-girl and coworker of Jonathan, decides she wants to change her status to become Jonathan's girlfriend. Soon, an innocent paradox becomes a roadblock for the would-be lovers.
A Simple Act of Kindness is the story of love and friendship accidentally found, then hopelessly lost, perhaps forever.
You'll be treated to a roller-coaster ride between love and friendships with no end in sight. Perhaps they'll become romance-less best friends.
The awkward friendship that was supposed to make them emotionally safe creates a confusing hunger for each other that both reject. Finally, a staged kiss forces status change, and both are caught in romance's death grip, unable to escape with neither wanting to.
Is this Cupid's first loss?
