Description
With his second wife dead and his daughter away at college, Dave Robicheaux finds himself at loose ends, until he learns that an old friend, Father Jimmie Dolan, has been brutally assaulted and returns to New Orleans to investigate. Father Jimmie asks him to investigate the presence of a toxic landfill near St. James Parish, which leads to a search for the truth behind the long-ago disappearance of a legendary blues musician and composer. Back in New Iberia, three teenage girls are killed by a drunk driver and, soon after, the owner of the drive-through liquor operation that served the driver is murdered.
