Notes

Description
Benjamin Musser, once a successful Jewell County businessman, bequeathed a permanent trust fund of $83,000 in 1915 to assist worthy young men and women of School District No. 1, Jewell County, Kansas, in obtaining a higher education. This short work presents histories of both the donor and his family, as well as the Trust itself. The text of Mr. Musser's will is reproduced. Lists of "Benificiaries" and "Honor Roll", as of 1956, are included. The "Honor Roll" includes those borrowers who have paid the entire note for their awarded student loans. The Benjamin Musser Estate Trust Inc is still registered as a "nonprofit [organization] (public charities, private foundations & others)" in 2012.
