The story of transportation, especially roads and highways, and the effect on the history of the towns along the Solomon River Valley in central and western Kansas.This history is a project of the Solomon Valley Highway 24 Heritage Alliance, comprised of twenty-four communities located on or near the Solomon River and U.S. Highway 24, from east to west: Glasco, Simpson, Asherville, Beloit, Solomon Rapids, Glen Elder, Cawker City, Downs, Portis, Osborne, Bloomington, Alton, Woodston, Stockton, Webster, Damar, Nicodemus, Bogue, Hill City, Penokee, Morland, Studley, Tasco, and Hoxie.
