Description
Outside the Hoisington, Kansas, city limits, South Hoisington (South Homestead Township) has been home to primarily African Americans and Hispanics during the 20th century. This work examines the people and institutions that shaped the South Hoisington community, blending historical research with first-person accounts that allow former residents to tell their own stories of the former community's people, business establishments, controversies, and regular flooding.
