Description
A humorous story of a kind-hearted trekker who gets lost inside a forest for days, ultimately to come out a wiser man, having found the true meaning of life and a great lesson to cherish. Nestor, an amiable trekker, loses his way on his trek and ends up inside a forest. He is hungry and tired, and is afraid of the darkness and wild animals. However much he tries, he fails to find his way back home, and finally, loses all hopes of ever getting out of the dreaded place. While worrying about himself, he comes across fellow creatures in a situation more dire and helpless than his own. Without his care, the motherless hatchlings that he found were bound to perish of hunger. So, a compassionate Nestor brings up the helpless little birds with timely food and tender care despite his own pitiable situation. In the process, he forgets is own worries and fears, and in the end, discovers a new meaning for life and also a great lesson to cherish. It is surely an enchanting and inspiring story that has a great and a lasting moral for children and adults alike. Like the author's earlier illustrated stories, this story also has a lucid, simple and humorous narration style that is easy to follow and also to read aloud to children at bedtime. The excellent illustrations are captivating with fine details and colors and are highly enjoyable. As an illustrator, the author has succeeded in imprinting the spirit of her story faithfully in the illustrations as conceptualised by her. So, the text and fine illustrations blend together seamlessly to make it a great book. With a wonderful story, moral value, humorous narration and captivating illustration, it is a must-have book for boys and girls, aged 2-8 years.
